I roll solo. I enjoy playing with other people like, Leraine Horstmanshoff , Mary Tebbs, and Sandy Ayala. I used to belong to a group called GEARL JAM. We were 5 female singer-songwriters that took the stage in the round. Each of us took turns doing a personal song while the others jammed in with instruments and vocals. The group was HOT and we had a pretty large following. As with most musicians though, we each began to focus on solo recordings and gigs. Soon, we were only able to get together for periodic concerts and festivals. The last was for the Red Rock Womens Music Festival in Utah.

Aretha, Gladys, Bonnie Raitt, and, of course, Joni Mitchell. I spent most of my adolescence writing songs and listening to Joni, Janis Ian, Melissa Manchester, Pheobe Snow and Johnny Mathis.
Sounds Like
A lot of people say I sound like Joan Baez. If that is meant to be a compliment, I don't really see it as one. Maybe it is because they don't know what category to put me in besides the generic "Folk".
Often people say I sound like Joni Mitchell but, then again I have been greatly influenced by her.
Truthfully, I think I sound like ME. And that is the way I like it!
