This letter is to all the people who came out to Jam Night on Monday night.
First of all, I want to say thank you very much for attending and being part of it.
It was a huge success because of you =)
Everyone was awesome and I was proud of each of you.
It takes a lot of guts to get up in front of all those people and perform.
There are a couple of issues I'd like to address;
The first one being the smoke in the bar, it was well noted on the flyer that Connollys is a smoking establishment.
It is extremely hard to find a non-smoking place with a stage that will allow children to attend.
If someone knows of one, please inform me and I'll see what I can do about booking our Jam Night there.
It is very important for all performers to have a stage to perform on.
They deserve to be showcased properly.
Jammers should not be stuck on a floor surrounded by pool tables like they were at the Brass Ring.
Connollys was very kind to support what we are doing for the kids and I appreciate all their efforts.
Not to mention the food was great and they opened up the pool tables for free.
Second, I'd like for everyone to understand what Jam Night is about.
Jam Night is not about any ONE person.
It is about all students and people who want to showcase their talent.
I make sure that my personal students get the opportunity to perform first being as though it is my Jam Night.
If you just come and sing then leave, that is not fair to the other performers.
The point to Jam Night is to let every person sing a few then let someone else,
after that come up and do a few more. Everyone wants an audience.
Imagine if I let 5 others get up before you and they all left before you sang or performed.
That would lessen your crowd quite a bit because everyone usually brings a few people with them when they attend.
No one wants to sing to an empty crowd. There would be no point to Jam Night then.
I designed Jam night so that students could get the feeling of a REAL performance.
My job as their teacher is to prepare them to be great singers and performers.
Most of my students want to audition for TV shows, music schools or eventually form a band.
When they are in private one on one lessons they can not get the much needed experience of a REAL stage and audience.
It is a must for them to get comfortable on stage and comfortable singing in front of people.
The confidence this experience builds is critical to their success in all avenues of their life.
Not to mention the great opportunity it provides for the students to network with each other and possibly form bands.
One more note on the smoking issue,
There was not actually a lot of smoke in Connollys, it only smells smoky.
Most people were being respectful of the young crowd and choosing not to smoke.
I greatly appreciate the ones who chose NOT to smoke, thank you.
Jam Night was a HUGE success!
I am so proud of each of you and hope
you will attend the next Student Jam Night.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Sincerely,
Fonda Cash

VOICE & PERFORMANCE-
Vocal classes help you to find your inner voice and teach
you how to express it. Wanna learn to control your voice,
expand your range and sing on pitch? I've got the tool for you! You will be given a vocal exercise CD that will be yours to keep and practice with. All singers of all levels will benefit from these vocal exercises. I can also incorporate beginner guitar and song writing sessions into the vocal lessons at the students/parents request.
Not only do I believe it is important to be a great singer but I feel it is equally important to be a great performer. That's why every 6 weeks I host a student jam night at a local venue that is kid friendly. All students get the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience, meet other young aspiring musicians, network and possibly form bands at this event. It is a lot of fun and a great way to build their self-confidence. These shows play a very important part in my teaching because it allows my students to understand the true nature of being a singer/performer. They work hard at what they do, deserve to be seen and heard, then feel the rewarding affect of a live audience applauding. After your child's first performance they will be hooked, their self-esteem will be boosted, you will notice a huge improvement in your child's school grades, behavior, and life. It has been scientifically proven that music makes a person smarter and the immune system stronger.
