This site is dedicated to the Food Not Bombs effort in Central Washington.
Food Not Bombs: what is it and what does it do?
FNB is an anarchist organization that gives free vegan food to the homeless and those in need.
Anarchist you say? But dont they believe in bombs not food?
No, anarchism is a very peaceful idea and is in no way chaos. FNB does not, in any way promote violence. This is a site for Food Not Bombs, though, and not anarchism. I suggest Wikipedia for further reading.
Another question you may have is why vegan food? Putting politics and ethics aside, excluding meat, dairy, and eggs reduces the risk for harmful bacteria and spoilage.
Do you have a message you want to get heard? There is also a political side to FNB!
The very name suggests our most fundamental principle: society needs to promote life, not death. Instead of pouring our money into making bombs to kill the poor, what if we fed them instead?! My! What a concept!! Globally, we continue to spend more time and resources developing, using, and threatening to use weapons of massive human and planetary destruction than on nurturing and celebrating life. Another goal is to raise people's awareness to the staggering number of homeless people and people living in poverty. Most people know that they're out there, just not how many there really are.

What you can do to help!
Our numbers are few and the need is great. We need all the volunteers we can get. Jobs would include chefs, organizers, servers, food-collecters, dishwashers, and the like. We need food, equipment, people to volunteer, and people to feed! Every effort helps!!!
