Konstantin Uzhinsky is a singer-songwriter, guitarist and producer whose current project is called "Konstantin / fooling no one".
Born in Moscow, Russia, Konstantin moved to the United States with his family at the age of 12.
Konstantin played lead guitar in the Washington, DC based gothic punk rock band Naked Fringe (see friends below). After leaving Naked Fringe, Konstantin lived in Oxford, England and there delved into writing songs. After coming back, Konstantin put together the band Fooling No One with some friends (among them drummer and percussionist Omar Kazmi). The band recorded a live CD and played shows in the Washington, DC area. Konstantin spent a year working in Middle East (building pyramids) and after that moved to Los Angeles, where he's recorded a 5 song LP with Ricardo Leite and met some cool and weird people. He has played many shows in the LA area with a band as well as by himself.
Konstantin wrote and recorded the soundtrack to an independent movie entitled "Cupid's Folly".
Update: I currently live in New York, where I am writing new songs and working on a new album. I like long walks on the beach and comfort food. Wait, this is for my personal profile.
Update 2: Finished a few songs for a soundtrack for a short film "the Mooch" written and directed by Jason Verga and Ed Cail. Look for it in the near future on YouTube and maybe other venues, it's funny, I tell you, and ladies (or whatever floats your boat) it features fine gentlemen whose company on the computer screen will delight you.
Recorded 5 new songs at Mighty Toad Studios with Craig Dreyer, Welcome to Hollywood is one of them. Thanks to Chris and Paul for laying down some very nice tracks and giving a couple of songs a proverbial kick in the pants. The songs will be on iTunes very soon, updates to follow.
Update: April 13 2009: You can now purchase songs from my new album "Chateau Ghetto Fabulous LP" from iTunes, or you can purchase the whole album, if you prefer. Just search for "Konstantin / fooling no one" in iTunes. Thank you
The song featured above "Brother can you spare a dime?" is by E.Y Harburg (words) and Jay Gorney (music). It is from a 1932 Musical called New Americana and was popularized by Bing Crosby.
