About me:
For six years the Fool's Brigade has staged an annual benefit for a local charity, featuring Charlotte bands and musicians highlighting the artists who influenced them the most.
It returns on May 1st, 2009 at The Neighborhood Theatre, to benefit the Jacob’s Ladder Job Center, featuring the music of The Rolling Stones!
The Annual Benefit was founded in 2004 by Bruce Hazel , to benefit the recently laid off workers at Pillowtex. Subsequent shows have benefited Crisis Assistance Ministry, Hospice of Charlotte, The Charlotte Community Charter School, and, most recently, The Metrolina AIDS Project.
Previous shows featuring the songs of Tom Waits, The Kinks, music form world famous rock-club CBGBs and David Bowie , raising nearly $20,000 for great, Charlotte-based charities.
The annual benefit was established with a dual intent; to provide assistance to a worthy cause and to shine a spotlight on the talented group of local music makers who help make Charlotte a thriving and vibrant place to live. Last year’s show, focusing on the music of David Bowie , brought in a record crowd and a record breaking amount of donations.
We look forward to topping it this year!
