Dinesh started writing originals shortly after learning how to play keyboards in 1985. In 1986, when most bands in Singapore were still playing covers, theirs won 1st runners up at the prestigious Yamaha Combo Time '86 band competition with an original song (well actually, two originals mixed into a one song electronica performance). It was apparently the only band to have performed their own music for both the heats and finals!
In 1998, Dinesh was approached to compose 4 tracks for a short film, FLY. Featured here are the tracks Flight of the Himalayas, Roads, SimpliCity and Spirit Catcher. The film went on to receive the 3rd prize at the Canadian International Film Festival in 1999 under the Amateur Documentary section. It has now also been featured on http://www.spiritofbaraka.com/fly
