Nestled in the arms of the Tennessee Valley, we have no shortage of inspiration. The beauty of the immovable mountain, the carving creek, the quilt of trees, warms us and calls us to create. We are instruments and voices and hundreds of years of Southern music. We sing of the love of our land, the awe of our universe, familiar simplicity, and the sublime unknown. Together, we write these songs that inherently seek which inherently seek the next step. We tell stories, but the details are always changing.
There is a feeling of ebb and flow when (Forest Magic) plays together that should extend to the audience. There is a call and response system that calls for ether. There is an aim to contribute to the collective pool of creative energy that is hovering above us like spirits so that at anytime, someone, somewhere can access it that much easier."

One of Chattanooga's most intriguing bands, Forest Magic is an unclassifiable ensemble which evokes diverse sonic experiences such as the dizzying momentum of Animal Collective, the homespun, earthy folk of the Carter Family, and the unpredictable sound collages of Faust. Along with their nature fixation is a big concept—they're from the future, trying to make sense of our musical tools and culture—and they use a cooperative songwriting approach and varied instrumentation, including bowed strings and electronics."
