On the stages of Cheatham Street Warehouse, Luckenbach, Tavern in the Gruene, The Austin Airport, Rowdy Float Trip 2008/2009, The Mean eyed cat, Hill's Cafe' and The Austin and San Antonio Rodeos is where Forest has been cutting his musical teeth.
He moved to San Marcos in Janary of 2007 and has been playing his tunes and making friends ever since. Forest, originially from Mechanicsville, Virginia graduated from Virginia Tech in May of 2006. Instead of finding a career in Environmental Science, he came to teach Outdoor Education on Possum Kingdom Lake. On a short vacation, he came down to Gruene, Blacno, Austin and San Marcos to see the lights and hear the sounds. When he came down for good, the closest person he knew lived in Dallas.
Since then, he has found a home at Cheatham Street Warehouse while recording a record with the legendary Kent Finlay and Cheatham Street Records. "On the Outskirts of Nowhere" will be his third self-released record in 5 years. (and is now available)! www.forestwaynetrain.com
While in the Hill Country the last three years, Forest has opened for Billy Joe Shaver, Stoney Larue, Mickey and the Motorcars, Two Tons of Steel, Doug Moreland, Ryan James, Drew Kennedy, Owen Temple, Rodney Hayden, Josh Grider, Texas Renegade and, Zach Walther and the Cronkies. He has also played alongside Kent Finlay, Ryan Turner, Mike Ethan Messick, Tres Womack, Bill Rice and Jimmy Kaiser.
