RYAN FORET W/ JIMMY ROGERS FROM CSP RECORDS
Foret Tradition was created 10 years ago. There were only two members!!
Ryan Foret who played keyboards and did all the singing. Brandon Foret, played drums. The band has come a long way from then. There were many musicians who played in the band throughout the years.
We recorded our first album, "Dance With Me" in 1999. That album was the starting point for The Foret Tradition. The Album consists of 10 original numbers, which we still get requests for.
In 2001 we were playing many private functions and local nightclubs. We released our 2nd album entitled, " Lost In The 50's". This album consists of 15 hits that were popular in the 50's. This album wasn't as successful as the first album, but still did well.
In 2003 the band made a few changes. We were having a hard time finding a steady saxophone player. So one day Brandon said he was gonna learn how to play the saxophone. He got with Jason Parfait, who at the time was playing with Don Rich, to teach him the basics. From then on he became one of the most popular saxophone players in Southeast Louisiana. We also released our 3rd album entitled, "Hey Good Lookin'". This album was our best seller yet! Not long after that we hired our cousin Christopher Daigle to play drums. So now we had 3 family members among us. The band was kickin!
Around November, I met a guitar player by the name Wade Pavolini. Pavolini was from Kiln, Ms. Not long after I met Wade he was hired to be the guitar player for The Foret Tradition.
In 2005 we came out with our 4th album, "Tee Nah Nah". To me this album put us on the map in Southeast Louisiana. Tee Nah Nah sold more copies in one year than the first three sold totally. So I say that album was a hit. We were now playing the Gulf Coast from Mississippi to Texas.
In 2006, we had to make some more changes in the band. We lost Chris, who went on to raise his two boys and now is trying to have another. He will always be apart of the Foret Tradition Family. We also lost the better half of the Foret Tradition. Brandon quit the band to perform with the best show band in Louisiana. He started playing with The Chee Weez. Brandon & Chris still on occasion sit in with us. The band had to start all over again.
We hired three new members in June 2006. Lupe Valdiviez Jr. (drums), Jules Caldarera (saxaphone), and Beau St. Pierre (trumpet). That group stayed together until October 2006. Jules left the band in October to perform in Nashville 6 nights a week.
From October 2006 to June 2007 we played 4 piece again. Ryan, Wade, Lupe, and Beau.
In January 2007 we hired in my eyes one of the best bass players in the state. I got word about Jeremy from Lupe. Lupe and Jeremy are cousins, and Lupe said that Jeremy would be a great addition to the band. Boy was he right!!! Jeremy Billiot became the newest member of the band.
In June 2007 we hired a great musician that gave the band the biggest boost ever. Jason Parfait joined the band playing saxophone and singing vocals. He was a major addition to the group. He was the missing link. So now the band was a six piece group that was hard to beat.
In September 2007, we lost Lupe. Lupe was a tragic loss in the band to me. I didn't think we were gonna be able to fill his shoes. Not only was he a band member, but he was like a brother. Lupe brought something to the band that is unexplainable. He went on to play with another great show band out of New Orleans. He now plays regularly with No Idea.
Lynn Boudreaux filled Lupe's position. Lynn is from Gonzales, La and was a blessing. I didnt know what to do when Lupe left. I got a phone call one day from a dear friend, Travis Thibodaux, who told me about Lynn. He told me that Lynn was looking for work. So it was perfect, Lynn just came right on in and is really doing well. He is the current drummer for the band.
In October 2007 we lost Beau St. Pierre. Beau is working on his own project out in Nashville, and he is also performing with Jake Smith, and Souled Out. Still today people say they miss Beau. We all miss Beau! Beau brought alot of energy to the band, that cant be replaced.
In January 2008, we made a few changes. We are now back to a 4 piece group, like we originally were. Ryan is playing bass & keys, and also the lead vocalist, Jason on saxophone, Wade on guitar, and Lynn on drums. We plan to stay a 4 piece group. It seems when we have more members than 4 we always have members coming and going.
April 1, 2008 we hired another 5th member. He is James Spells. James plays trumpet with us. James has played with many artists including, Kane Glaze, G.G. Shin, Blue Eyed Soul, Don Rich, and many more...... James adds the last piece to the Bayou Soul Horns. He is a great addition to the group that we have been missing since January.
Here we are, April 2008, the band is tight and performing 4 nights a week. We are currently working on our 5th album entitled, "She's Mine".
We are expecting it to be a hit like Tee Nah Nah. We changed the name of the group to "Ryan Foret & Foret Tradition". We signed a record deal with a record label out of Forney, Texas. The band is under CSP Records. We cover music from Swamp Pop, R&B, Soul, Funk, Motown, Country, Top 40, 80's Rock, and Zydeco!!! We perform at any event you can think of. We play tons of Weddings and Festivals. Nightclubs are a major part of our schedule. So we will perform whenever and wherever you need us......
