    "BE STILL
AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD."

    ~Psalm 46:10
This is my mantra, I'm working on it day by day.

~Travel: I've been to Brazil, Mexico, and a handful of states in my life (FL, IL, CO, AZ, NV...CA) I plan on studying abroad eventually. I'm going to Spain and France next summer with my best friend and I cannot WAIT!

~Missions: The 2 reasons I was out of the country were on missions trips. They are possibly the most life altering and rewarding experiences you can every have and I'm so thankful I went through with them. It was costly in more ways that one, but God has really affected me with them.

~Reading: I love books, always have, always will. See the books section.

~Performing: I was a theatre kid in high school (well, since I was able to talk actually) and still love it with all my heart. Unfortunately I am no longer an active memeber of it, but still enjoy watching it and maybe I'll keep doing little bits here and there, whether it's filling in as an emergency or helping out backstage. It was one of the best experiences of my life, having that second family that accepted me for myself and encouraged me to set goals and accomplish them. I don't remember a whole lot about my high school years that was outside of church or drama.
Shows I was in during highschool:
Midsummer Night's Dream (Fall 04), Damn Yankees (Fall 05), Peter Pan (Spring 06), Deadwood Dick (Fall 06), The Cat and the Canary (Spring 07), and helped out with more in between. The summer after high school I helped out in the Maverick's Midsummer Night's Dream (filled in as various fairies when they couldn't make it) and I really wish to get more involved there while I still live down here...

I was also into choir and dance, but to a lesser degree. Singing is a private passion now, you have to be pretty special to hear me sing in front of you!

~Outdoors: I wish I had more experience with camping because I love the outdoors!! I want to be active and rough it in the woods and hike and all that. I hope to go further and do it in Europe this summer, (the Picos de Europa) or live for a little while in the woods or mountains. But otherwise, I'm a product of SoCal suburbia; my parents would take us camping in a camper... that's not the real deal to me.

~Sports: I'm a pretty impatient spectator but a pretty hopeless player. I enjoy them for the social aspect and don't have any strong opinions about teams or anything.
Tennis is fun without scoring, as most games are. I bike, rollar blade, or do Pilates and yoga in my free time.

  • Music

~I don't define myself by my music but I think it is a vital part of life that represents people pretty well.

~I'm diverse enough to not belong to a certain category. I tend to be on the "old-fashioned" side. Not always the most up to date on my music and I'm terrible with names of bands...But I love a ton of current and alternative stuff as well. I'm open to suggestions!

~Classically, Anything goes really (within reason, obviously!) George Winston on the piano makes me melt. Soundtracks are awesome to my favorite movies like Peter Pan and Pearl Harbor.

~My current favorite artists are pretty smooth and relaxed: Damien Rice, Norah Jones, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Oasis, Michael Buble, Sara Bareilles, Regina Spektor, Jars of Clay, Missy Higgins, Colbie Caillat.

~I adore older music and usually impress my grandparents when they hear my collection. Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, Ella Fitzgerald, Julie London, Louis Armstrong, Dusty Springfield, Nat King Cole, Jimmy Durante, and the likes.

~My dad is mostly at fault for my taste for 80s music. ELO, Styx, Kansas, to name a few.

~I like a lot of Christian alternative like Relient K. I also really like new country. I can't help it, it's that part of me that loves the back stories and wishes life was as simple as Taylor Swift sings about...

~As to other forms, I play the clarinet and sing.
  • Movies

~There are way too many movies in this world for a complete list of favorites. How about I name what I can:

Lord of the Rings, Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Pearl Harbor, Titanic, Gone with the Wind, The Notebook, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Shakespeare in Love, Phantom of the Opera, Moulin Rouge, Chicago, Across the Universe, Wall-E, The Net, Red Eye, Shawshank Redemption, Monty Python, Life of Brian, Speed,
    TO BE CONTINUED...

~ps Disney movies changed my life when I was a child. No doubt about that!

  • Television

House, America's Next Top Model, The Office, The Colbert Report, Law & Order: SVU, Arrested Development, Scrubs
(Watch Saving Grace! I'm going to be on an episode in spring!)

About me:

~~I'm Danielle. If you're on my page, you know me already... but here I am anyway!~~

~I'm a Christian, not just by label but by my lifestyle. I believe in loving people and loving God; it's a pretty simple way to look at life, but it's the only way I would ever want to live. I am so thankful for the hope found in Christ and I want to share that with others every chance I can.

~I think that politics, while important, divide people more than they unite them, so I prefer not to identify myself with something to a ridiculous degree. I'm not afraid if my opinions differ from yours, but why let that drive a wedge between people?
I will say... elephants rock. ;)

~I believe firmly that science supports God (that's how he designed it to be, another aspect in which he could reveal himself to us!). I'm not an expert in any particular field, but I know enough to be convinced that it's all from Him. This world-- no, this UNIVERSE-- is too complex and complete and mind blowing... it really doesn't take a lot of faith to conclude that He made it!"

~I've lived in CA my whole life and don't know if I'll ever leave it (temporarily or permanently), but I don't plan on sitting still. Look out world!

~I'm a psychology major, go to FC and want to transfer to UCD, however that's not set in stone. Don't know exactly what field I'll be going into, probably developmental/family counseling, possibly teaching, but I'm ok with finding out along the way.

~I have freckles that come with my Irish blood, as well as a variety of other European countries. Which is a nice way of saying I'm a mut with a vague idea of her heritage...Swedish, Irish, French, Croatian, Italian possibly, and some English in there somewhere...
My hair is dark brown and curly.
My eyes change colors, but they're mostly green with some blue and gray and yellow...
I'm small and have learned to embrace it, so you should too. =)

~I have a strange attraction to vampires. I think everyone is allowed that dark side of their nature, mine happens to be with vampires and Phantom of the Opera. Phantom is basically the gateway fetish... lol jk!

Who I'd like to meet:

Jesus (duh), inspiring people, authors I love, possibly a few movie stars, my childhood friends all grown up, and people whose lives I've made a difference in.
A guy to show me that they're not all the same.

Confessions:
~I want to feel my blood pulsing through my veins and adrenaline pumping into each cell of my body. To do something that makes me feel alive and insignificant and brave all at the same time.

Things that have given me that rush: Bunjee jumped, Rock Climbing, Surfing, Acting on stage, Rafting, Swimming in a thunderstorm, Singing a solo on stage, Roller coasters, Skiing, saying, "I love you" for the first time, Travelling, Giving my testimony, Completing a 40 ft high ropes course, Hiking to a peak, Sitting on the ledge of the Grand Canyon, Swimming up to a pounding waterfall, Wakeboarding, Cliff diving (Lake Mead!), Dancing, First dates.

What I want to do: Sky diving *20th birthday?, Keep dancing, Travel to Europe *Leigh, summer 09!, Meet someone with passion, Share my faith more, Go rock climbing more often, Go on a cruise, Go camping more often!~
~I am satisfied right now, I'm content and I like peace in my life. Yet I have this craving to feel my mortality and do something that involves some guts. I won't sit still and let myself sink into mediocrity. I wasn't made for that. I'm going to enjoy this life!~

~I am a romantic to my core. I've tried to beat it out of myself because of heartbreak but I can't deny my nature. I want to enjoy the butterflies in my stomach and let them lead me places, I want to be swept off my feet, pursued, fought for. I want passion and determination and someone who won't care if he looks foolish in his pursuit. I love old time period films and books and the days of curtsies and blushing maidens. I love dashing gentlemen and old-time qualities like humility and courage and sincerity. And I want them in this day and age. My fear is that they are forgotten and that I'll have to just accept that one day; but I hope and pray constantly that I won't ever have to settle. That's what keeps me clinging to what I cannot and will not let go of: my romantic heart.~

~I Corinthians 13:4-7:"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

Hey Danielle! I too am excited for break! Definitely not looking forward to spring semester since i will be full time at cal state fullerton so im gonna have a lot more school work to do :(

Actually, i'm in a dance that laura conrad or robin, as she is called, choreographed in the concert. She is pretty cool. You'll get a taste of her style. I've never taken a modern class from her but her choreography for modern is good. Liann is my choreography teacher and she too is very knowledgeable. So either one would be good really!

Im so glad to hear you're going to the dance concert! I can't wait to see you there :)
