Forfend, made up of three guys and a chick, formed the summer of 2006 at N.Y.M.P Jazz Camp in Superior, Wisconsin. Peter Whiteman, Ander Peterson, Trevor Whittaker, Dillon Bailey, and Amber Fletcher wrote a song for the talent show at camp, and at the time, called themselves Silencing the Desperate.
After camp, Trevor and Ander left, leaving Amber, Peter, and Dillon. A couple months of name changing and songwriting went by before Amber brought her cousin, and current member, Chase Williams on board to play lead guitar in the fall.
The band then went on to become Forfend and moved slowly through the rest of 2006 and into 2007 when they started picking up more shows.
Now, into 2008, they’ve played several shows in Duluth with bands such as Sing It Loud and Jamestown Story, but are going on Hiatus. sorry =[

hey guys, just double checking, we're under the impression you guys are playing the encounter with us and possible others on May the 16th, is this correct?
yea we had to beat out 6 other bands to make it we had a great battle at our high school this year so we had to really earn our spot at the big show haha
who else had to go outside and dig out 5 doghouses while feeding and watering them outside and trying to find bowls buried under 3 feet of snow while wearing only jeans and a military coat? Lame haha
