About me: Today I decided to update my profile...to reflect on what I think of myself and life in general. I've had the opportunity to take some time to put a few things in perspective and I now realize there is nothing quite like being loved and loving someone in return. I've recently been blessed with an amazing and handsome little boy, a son who is now four months old and he has really allowed me to know what "love" is. His smile and laugh are all that I need...to know that life is good. I've experienced love in the past and am now so very much in love with his father, but there is nothing quite like the unconditional love you feel for a child. Thankfully, my husband works incredibly hard to allow me to spend as much time as possible watching our little love grow to appreciate the world around him...and for that I will be eternally grateful. As a result of my becoming a mother I have matured emotionally and now I feel I finally have a true handle on what is important. The little things don't bother me as much, I'm less anxious, I'm more sure of myself and my abilities as an individual, I'm more sure of my place in this world, and I now know everything I do matters to someone...ten times more than it matters to me and that knowledge is my motivation.
I'm still working toward a few personal goals in my life. I want to teach high school students about the value of great literature and ignite a passion within them for writing. I want to "find" myself in my own writing, to prove to myself that I can write well, but not for some assignment or some professor. I want to travel and experience as much of the world as I possibly can before I get too old to enjoy my mobility. I want to believe what a fortune cookie once stated; that: "I will always have everything that I need".
As crazy as it sounds I hear the birds singing and one particular songbird always sings to me "don't worry" at just the right moment, when I need its assurance the most. To this day I don't know which type of bird has such a distinct chirp, but I will always have my head up toward the sky looking for it, silently telling it thank you...hearing its song reminds me that everything will be okay.
I so appreciate a good laugh, one that comes from the bottom of the gut and brings tears to your eyes...my sister is really good at hitting my funny bone...and my best friend Colleen always knows how to make me see the lighter, funnier side of every situation. Both of these girls make me feel funny and that is priceless...because most of the time I don't think I'm quite funny enough.
My husband makes me feel beautiful and I know he means it when he tells me I'm pretty...his terms of endearment are locked safely away in my heart...to take out and admire whenever I'm feeling a little "fugly" or plain.
Every day I'm thankful for my relationship with my family, for every new friend I make, and for every "old" friend who still puts up with me.
