George played bass in Lazarus Clamp
from 99-2003 and toured with Giant Sand, Laura Cantrell, Mice Parade, Pinback, Herman Dune and at SXSW in 2001 before it became cool. He also Recorded 2 LPs and some singles. He formed Former Utopia when he returned to East London in 2003 and gigged with Chris Brokaw, Thalia Zedek Band, PW Long, Julie Dorion, Swell, Thee More Shallows, Mick Turner (Dirty Three), Damo Suzuki (as Former Utopia VS Cosmic Shenngy) and David Grubbs.
