Born and raised in Sweden, until now mainly known for its bikini teams, Absolut vodka, Volvo and the Nobel Prize, Johan Reinhold popularly known as Form One found his calling as an MC in his late teens. Today considered as one of the most prolific and successful European rappers rhyming in English.
Known for his wordplay, lyrical performance and presence on the mic which also earned him to collaborate with such US MC's like Canibus, Sean Price (Heltah Skeltah, Bootcamp Click), Chino XL, A.G. (D.I.T.C.), Yak Ballz (the Weathermen), Copywrite, Camu Tao (Def Jux), Maylay Sparks and Akrobatik to name a few.
Form One’s critically acclaimed debut album "Meet Johnny Rhino" (released in 2005) was praised in media all over the world and also nominated in Sweden for "independent hip hop album of the year". All this opened up new doors and allowed Form One to tour Europe at sold out venues alongside Looptroop, Samy Deluxe and German reggae phenomenon Nosliw.
Now Form One is ready to reintroduce himself to a world where hip hop has become a popularity contest and doing so with his futuristically vintage soul sound. He refuses to dumb down his music and conform to the formula of creating the next big ringtone-bubblegum-rap-song. Instead he flips the script and takes it back to the days when artists like A Tribe Called Quest was at the peak of their fame. When rappers had something to say and made music that mattered. Only this time Form One and longtime producer friend, Astma has found a unique way of mixing the old with the new thus creating something completely fresh for 2008 and inspiring for the fans.
Form One’s new album entitled “Behind Blue Eyes” can be described as commercially viable music that both entertain and educates, but also let’s you reflect on what he just said in his songs long after they end. It is music that all people can relate to. That all ages can appreciate whether you’re a fan of hip hop or not. It is simply good music – period.
The first single taken from the album, "Money" which features singer/ songwriter Vincent and is produced by Astma was downloaded over 30.000 times(!).
The second single, "Away" climbed to 14 on the Swedish Billboard singles chart in it's first week!
The third and current single "Falling Down" just dropped and instantly received heavy rotation on Swedish national radio and TV.
