Nowadays it seems music is all about the "image", where people try so hard to look different that it surpasses the need for a band to even sound good. It has become so common that "different" is now cliche, where emo haircuts are just as common as Abercrombie and Fitch on jocks. Forsythe appeals to the normal guy. The guy that doesn't conform to wear what he sees emo bands wearing on MTV just as much as he isn't wearing Duckhead Khaki shorts to fit in, he just wears what he wants. It is time to give back to the guy who doesn't care what everyone else is doing, to the guy that just wants to rock. Forsythe is giving back to the common man with good ol' fashioned rock and roll with stellar dual lead guitar solos, driven vocals, intricate drum beats, and one crazy bass player who does anything but "sleep" on stage.
FORSYTHE was originally formed sometime around August 2003. They have played at all of the major venues in Tallahassee, including Floyd's, The Engine Room, Big Daddy's, and Bullwinkes. They have also been featured on regional rock and roll shows and have played live on Gulf 104 as well as X 101.5.
In January 2005, the band went on a hiatus for nearly 3 years as members of the band took a break to do service in different parts of the world. The band reunited in December 2007, with an explosive reunion show at Floyd's Music Store. Since that time, the band has been up and running, playing a variety of shows around Florida including Club la Vela in Panama City, Florida Music Fest in Orlando, and other locations throughout the Southeastern region.
The Journey has only begun. The band recently released a new EP, Go Back, in November of 2008 which combines all elements of the bands journeys over the last 5 years. It is now up on iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, Napster, and many other digital music stores. The album was recorded in Visionsound studios, engineered by Daryl Phinnegar (has also worked with Redjumpsuit Apparatus, Molly Hatchett, Evergreen Terrace). The goal is to now get the music out to the people, keeping in mind the goal of “Rocking the World”, but realizing it takes "One Day at a Time".
