Sounds Like
Been compared to a car crash with sedatives, an ice cream with lava sauce, and so many funny stuffs...
Since the release of their first album, 2004's My City of Ruins, For the Chosen Few have honed their sound to reach some new grounds : without losing their melodic skill, they carried on telling stories but chose to rely more on soundscapes and building atmosphere to deconstruct their pop-music, and turn it into something else. Expanding their lineup to add a third guitar, FTCF have widened their sound palette and made it denser. After a series of three self released EPs (issued in 2007) on which the French quintet defined a new aesthetic, here comes The Tyranny of Choice, a new 30-minute two track-EP which illustrates the band’s transformation. With numerous references, their music is yet tricky to pigeonhole : only the melancholy and some underlying tension prevail and work as the guiding thread for the record. For the Chosen Few displays a very personal universe which makes even more sense on stage : the band gained some maturity by sharing the bill with artists such as Piano Magic, Enablers, Red Sparowes, Logh, Jeniferever or Gregor Samsa.
With live setlist featuring a good deal of new tunes, FTCF are likely to get back in the studio very soon to record a new album.
Stay tuned...

Kassyus Clay are a musical project formed in 2007 in Vicenza, Italy.
Their early sound could be considered a combination of energetic rock and sinuous post rock. In six months, after having released an unofficial demo called “Kassyus Clay, We play!!!” - which was recorded and self-produced in a low-fi studio - the band decided to develop their sound adding electronic instruments and broadening their experimental side. Their following songs became more eclectic, more instrumental, more orchestrated and definitely less rock, paying attention on the harmony and the structure of the pieces.
Inspired by some groups such as Stereolab, Tortoise, Cinematic Orchestra, Jagga Jazzist, and many other similar bands, Kassyus Clay sound can be described as an evocative, powerful, hypnotic melody, being like “a talking picture without pictures”.
Two Half Cans was born in 2007. Two Half Cans is a duo, guitar and drum. Two Half Cans is like Austin and Chicago, Seattle and Washington D.C., a little bit New York too. Two Half Cans isn't White Stripe, not The Kills, not indie, not Rock'n'Roll. Two Half cans play only live.
