Over 18 months in the making and involving several studios, bedrooms, two engineers, two mastering suites and lots of raised voices and veiled threats, Forts second full length cd was released on September 1st 2007. Featuring some of the face-tearing guitaring, powerhouse rhythms and rolling grooves the Byron Bay band have become renowned for. The self-titled cd also showcases the bands dynamic songwriting flair, including guest vocals by Norweigan electro pop princess Annie Lilia Berge Strand.
Based in Byron Bay, on the east coast of Australia, Fort has been around since early 2000.
With five releases under their studded belt and a history of rocking venues throughout the country, Fort has toured with the likes of Grinspoon, Clutch, FuManchu, Nebula, Brant Bjork and the Bro's, the Datsuns and the Black Keys to name a few.
Rolling Stone Magazine - Fort hark back to the not too distant past when guitars were played by men unafraid to grow facial hair, who delivered heavy arse riffs like their lives depended on it. Serving up a brew of Kyuss-styled psychedelia and no-nonsense AC/DC fashioned riffing, set against a backbone of crashing cymbals and a pace far too strenuous for those weened on rock 'lite'".

Just a casual observation - It’s funny how we Aussies like puttin' "O" on the end of people's names...e.g Robbo, Thommo, Simmo, Jacko, Johnno........but there's one name that doesn't lend itself to this….....and that's Les! guys i love ur stuff. georgie u rip it on the guitar like the best of them all. please come do a gig on the sunshine coast at the sol bar cos even though i love coming to byron or lennox to watch u play, its getting more expensive to drive haha. but seriously i know plenty of guys who love your music and would want to see u if u came and played on the sunshine coast so just think about it

Dreadnaught would like to announce that Matt Racovalis (Alarum, The Berzerker) will be joining the current line-up on drums. Matt has been a mainstay of the Australian metal scene for many years now, touring and recording with Alarum from 1992 to 2006 and brief stints with The Berzerker.
The band is booked to enter the studio on May 31, with producer Reggie Bowman to begin work on LP number 4. Following completion of the new record the band will be setting their sites on Europe, making the jaunt later in the year to commence talks with interested labels and promoters so the band can finally begin their long overdue assault on the Northern hemisphere.”
