Fortunas Favourites are an alternative Rock Band based in Wiener Neustadt, Lower Austria.
The band formed in late 2002, inspired by bands like Ash and other Brit Pop Bands the early sound of the band was more indie rock orientated. After some months in the rehearsal room, they recorded their fist demos and soon started touring their region and got a lot of attention.
In 2004 fortunas favourites already toured all over Austria and spent nearly every weekend in the tourbus, soon playing shows with Austrias Alternative Rock Elite bands like Julia, 3 feetsmaller, Zeronic and more.
In September 2005 the band finally made their first release with the EP “born by the sun”.
The track which had established as a live concert evergreen received airplay in 8 european countries and 6 months later the first regular album release “fingerprints” was released in Austria and Czech republic. The second single “the frequency” was put on rotation on austrias number 1 alternative radio station “fm4”.
From March 2006 to March 2007 the band promoted fingerprints and toured 4 countries, featuring a co headlining appearance in Prague, at the famous “Sazava” Fest, as well as shows in Budapest, Ljubljana, and a show at their hometowns biggest venue, the “Arena Nova”in Wiener Neustadt
After “Fingerprints”, Fortunas Favourites split up with their Keyboarder and took a year off from stage, working on the material to the follow up album “Ambivalent hearts” which will be released in Fall 2008.
after 90 shows, the band is at the moment working on new songs for a follow up album to "fingerprints", and is currently not playing live shows...some demo or live version of new songs should be heard on this page soon...
