Fossil Creek is: Janet Hudson on banjo, Tom Galbraith on guitar, Clinton White III on fiddle (and whatever other instruments we let him get his resin covered fingers on), Jerry Spitler on bass, Bill Marion on mandolin, and George Varble on guitar.
Influences
Since we come from pretty diverse backgrounds (and age groups), our influences are also pretty diverse. Some of us learned bluegrass by playing with some of the fantastic local musicians in our area, and by listening to the music of the legends like Bill Monroe, Jimmy Martin, The Osborne Brothers, and Flatt and Scruggs to name a few. Some of us learned our bluegrass with the help of the other members of our group and even by listening to the old timers on You Tube and I-tunes (my how times have changed!). It doesn't matter how or where we are learned, we all just enjoy the fun of playing bluegrass and gospel music with one another. We hope you love it too!

Last night was a great time. I think the "new" fossil creek will have a really unique sound and each musician will definitely grow musically. It is very cool to bounce new things off one another and see how the next riff turns out. They say you have to really like listening to one another to have a great sound, and if last night's session was any indication, the sound will be very cool. As for the new music, I love the process of developing new music.
