About me: Foundation Tiki Bar is the only bar of it's kind in Milwaukee. We offer an exotic drink menu, as well as regular cocktails and a nice selection of Rums and Beers.
The interior is packed with carved tikis, puffer fish lights, glass net floats, nautical and surfing related memorabilia. The classic style neons in the window simply say 'Foundation Tiki Bar' and on the side of the exterior is a giant Moai head and a small bamboo sign beckoning the passerby with Polynesian escapism.
Who I'd like to meet: Trader Vic, Don The Beachcomber, Duke Kahanamoku, Walt Disney, Brian Wilson, Don Ho, Dean Martin, Elvis, Sol Hoopii, Les Baxter, The Ventures, Martin Denny, Arthur Lyman, Annette Funicello,
Okay, tell me if someone has already thought of this drink. You make a white russian but substitute a nice amber rum for the vodka. I love it. I call it the Pirate Ivan. Hope you are having a very tiki weekend!
"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
