Four For One is a meeting of the minds of four very accomplished North
Carolina musicians whose collective beliefs embrace a love and sharing of
the jazz art form. One goal is to have a group without the usual revolving
personnel all too common in the Jazz world. Tackling a variety of musical
styles in the jazz idiom is a favorite pastime of this veteran group of
Triad-based performers. Educational aspects are revealed and discussed with
every performance, setting a new standard in audience interaction and
involvement. After forming in 2003, they have played various club dates,
concerts and private functions. The summers of 2004-2006 saw them coaching many aspiring young jazz players as faculty members for The John Coltrane Jazz
Workshop in High Point NC.. Four For One also teaches a Jazz Improvisation class in the Portals of Discovery education program at The Reynolda House Museum of American Art. All the members of Four For One teach Jazz at
Universities and/or privately.
