Four Hand Reel are Julian Gurr (mandolin) and Andy Stone (guitar). We take our name from a dance particularly associated with the county of Dorset where we are based. However, the fact that dances with this name can be found throughout the Celtic world and beyond is intended to reflect our interest in traditional music in a much broader sense. The four hands of our duo play tunes and songs from England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, Brittany, Galicia, North America, French Canada, Sweden, and eastern Europe, as well as several new compositions of our own.
The tunes included on this site are taken from our eleven-track album, "Woven", which we released a couple of years ago to some very pleasing reviews (see www.fourhandreel.co.uk).
We have just begun to record a new album, but in the meantime, "Woven" is still available from us at gigs or via email, priced £10.00.
