  • Bio

Four Horse Johnson came together in the fall of 2007 as a collaboration by 4 experienced Northeastern Minnesota musicians. Drawing influence from a long and eclectic list or artists, the guys in the band have all seen more than their fair share of small stages and smoke filled rooms. With some members weary from years of playing in cover bands, others left older and wiser from the Minneapolis scene, and all chomping at the bit to be a part of something new and exciting; the band started not only to write and refine a respectable number of original tunes but also to bring those tunes to the bars, pubs, clubs, and street dances of Northern Minnesota. The music received a surprisingly warm response, and encouraged by the enthusiasm of local artists and audiences, Four Horse Johnson was instrumental in forming the Iron Range Original Music Association. There is a bit of a scene emerging in their part of the state, and Four Horse Johnson is riding the crest of that creative wave. “Transmission” is their first attempt at documenting some of what they do. Recorded at Sparta Sound in Sparta MN under the guidance of Rich Mattson, this first of hopefully many CDs goes a long way in capturing the energy and nuances of the band’s live shows. If you miss The Replacements and love The Gear Daddies, you’ll dig Four Horse Johnson. If you’re into Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty, Four Horse Johnson will set your foot to tappin’ too. If bands like Uncle Tupelo and Wilco are more your taste, Four Horse Johnson has some edgy Alt Country to offer you as well. If you like loud guitars and appreciate the tight vibe of a rocking quartet, Four Horse Johnson will win your heart. We rock hard, love a little, fight like cats and dogs, occasionally drink to much, and play straight from our souls. Four Horse Johnson’s Transmission will NOT disappoint. http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=336572704&s=143441 .. ............Myspace Layouts.. - ..Myspace Editor.. - ..Hot Comments.. - ..Image Hosting.... .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ................................
