..."It's a fantastic record, as good as anything I've heard this year." Colin Fielding 96.5 Inner FM-------------------..."Stole Away... The Billy Sessions, named for the band's late drummer Billy Cairns should be played on endless repeat as you travel America's highways." Jeff Weiss MoM------------------
..."These guys have a rare ability to say truths and verities with a pulsing beat, organic drive and an unmistakable connection to the rootstock of American music. Witty lyrics and visual song writing make this listen special." Doc Blues L.I.B.S.---
Fourteen Feet is a New York based alt-country, roots-rock band that was founded by singer/songwriter, guitarist Steve Welner. Along with Steve (guitar, vocal), the band features Rich Lanahan (guitar, vocal), Mike "Hombre" Meehan (bass, vocal), and Mike Leuci (drums). Running the gamut from traditional acoustic folk, blues, and bluegrass, to electric rock, Fourteen Feet can most accurately be described as fitting within the umbrella of "Americana" style music. The band's third, and most recent album, Stole Away..."The Billy Sessions" was produced by Eric "Roscoe" Ambel and engineered by Tim Hatfield at Cowboy Technical Services in Brooklyn, NY. It was named in tribute to their late great drummer, Billy Cairns who played on all of the tracks. Upon release in August 2008 it was the number one selling CD at "Miles of Music". Steve was selected as one of the top 5 songwriters, and the album was selected as one of the top 5 releases in 2008 by DJ Colin Fielding (96.5 Fm) to the Austin, Tx based, "Freeform American Roots" (FAR) charts. The band's other recordings include, "Running Hearts" (2006) and, "All You Need" (2001). The name, Fourteen Feet was inspired by the distance that "Curly" fell through a laundry chute in a 3 Stooges episode, whereupon he wise-cracked that the drop was, 14 feet. It was also the drop from the gallows as proclaimed by "Winnie" in the Joseph Conrad novel, "The Secret Agent".

PICS ARE NOW POSTED ON MY MYSPACE PAGE FROM JAMMIN' FOR THE KIDS!!
I am so over whelmed with emotions right now, that it’s not only breathe taking but rewarding at the same time!! ONCE AGAIN, I realized how truly blessed I am to have your respect, love and support towards my social cause of choice. For that alone I am honored and grateful - So thank you from the bottom of my heart and soul for not only believing in me and this event but for being my friend!
The sole purpose towards this event is to unite the Local Long Island Music scene to Jam for the those kids in need here on Long Island– I could not continue this event year after year, if it wasn’t for you standing behind me and Toys of Hope.. THIS EVENT WAS AND WILL ALWAYS BE ABOUT QUALITY AND NOT ABOUT VENUE QUANITY OF CROWD DRAW. YOUR PARTICAPTION on this event was NOT ONLY respected but valued across the board. So that said, please know your band/music truly captured the spirit of the Local Long Island Music Scene and what Jammin’ For The Kids is all about - for that alone ROCKS!!
Always remember, music is what heals the soul and guides us through those hard times! So please always stay true to your passion and roots and never lose faith in why you bring a smile to ones face when you play. This is coming from a fan/friend and not from another Venue/Event Promoter here on Long Island! ALWAYS KEEP YOUR MUSIC Flowing – BECAUSE YOUR ENERGY & PASSION WILL ALWAYS SHINE THROUGH OUR HEARTS!!
DJ Riders alone was able to help over 500 families here on Long Island and that was solely because of your support!! So once again, Thank you!!
SO HERE’S TO ANOTHER YEAR THAT WE JAMMED FOR THOSE KIDS IN NEED!
