Bio
Formed from the ashes of Dundee-based band Cagney, Dan Perris, Paul Bellamy and Brian Clark were joined by ex-Desert Rose guitarist Tommy Thornton to form fourteenhours. Influenced by R.E.M and U2, the fourteenhours sound has been compared to the likes of Kings of Leon, The Jam, and The La’s. In early 2008, the band documented their work with the recording of their self-financed demo album, “The Crossing”; a stirring collection of songs covering nautical endeavors to love (thankfully) lost. Showcasing the strong potential of the band, it has been enthusiastically received by their dedicated fans. Particular favourites include “Your Reasons (Don’t Change)”, and the anthemic “She Cried”. The demo album was launched to a near-capacity Cabaret Voltaire, Edinburgh, in May 2008, and was reported to be one of the venue’s busiest night’s for an unsigned band. fourteenhours have built up a loyal fan base through regular appearances at the now defunct Baby Tiger nights in Edinburgh. -

fourteenhours:
fourteenhours were formed when Dan Perris (vocals and guitar), Paul Bellamy (drums) and Brian Clark (bass), settled in Edinburgh in 2003, after all studying in Dundee. With shared influences of the likes of R.E.M, The Smiths, Joy Division and The Stone Roses, they knew they needed a guitar-spark and were linked up with Tommy Thornton.
Since then they have played regular gigs around Scotland, being compared in sound to the Kings of Leon and The Jam, and have recently supported Rod Jones (Idlewild) and Martin Stephenson (Martin Stephenson and the Daintees)..
In 2008, the band recorded their demo album at Red Barn Studios near Dundee; a collection of songs covering nautical endeavours to lost loves. The demo album was launched to a capacity crowd at Cabaret Voltaire, Edinburgh in May 2008, and was reported to be one of the venue’s busiest night’s for an unsigned band.
The band are now recording a new batch of songs, with a more varied mixture of musical styles from the first album, and hope to have these finished in early 2011.
