Bio
Four Trips Ahead has sounded the call for the new decade: the dynamic, melodic new EP entitled “The Memories.” Successfully combining their exciting, adventurous trademark sound with heavier production, the songs possess an urgency and maturity that mark Four Trips Ahead as a force to be reckoned with in modern rock music. Produced by lead vocalist Peter Wilson and mixed by long-time Grammy Award-winning engineer and new drummer Nick Cipriano, “The Memories” is a true self-contained, independent release. More specifically, it is a focused and daring statement of progressive musical intent.

Four Trips Ahead dates back to 2001, when seasoned New York City musicians, guitarist Brian Eisenpresser, bassist Dan Cassidy, drummer Dan Walsh and lead vocalist Peter Wilson first came together in search of a new creative outlet. Instantly, the quartet recognized their common musical interests: creating heavy, progressive sounds with strong melodies and dynamics. In a matter of a few rehearsals at the infamous NYC Music Building, Four Trips Ahead was born. The band soon brought their high-energy show to audiences in New York City and throughout the tri-state area. Becoming a club favorite, Four Trips Ahead has performed to enthusiastic audiences at Crash Mansion, The Delancey, Arlene’s Grocery, The Trash Bar, Don Hill’s and the much-missed CBGBs.

After independently producing three EPs, “Beginnings” in 2002, “The 505 Sessions” in 2004 and “39th Street Lullabies” in 2005, Four Trips Ahead released their long-awaited full-length debut in 2008 on 505 Records. The group followed the release by playing the CMJ Music Marathon in NYC and Organic Entertainment’s showcase at the WE Festival in North Carolina. Two videos were shot for the album: the live performance rehearsal clip for “The Gift” and the award-winning story short for “A Moment.” Loud Rock-formatted college radio played Four Trips Ahead on heavy rotation where the band charted on many top-ten playlists including stations such as WRSU, WDTS, KSLU, KLPI and WQHS.

With the success of their first full-length release behind them, Four Trips Ahead began intense writing, resulting in the new EP. Desiring to keep the energy from rehearsals intact, the majority of the music was tracked over one extended summer weekend with minimal overdubs at Spin Recording Studios in Long Island City. Exploring themes of nostalgia, lost love, missed opportunities, bitter realities, sacrifice, redemption and new beginnings, Four Trips Ahead’s new songs exhibit a depth often missing in popular rock music today. As stated in the lead-off track, “Feel Anything”: Yes it’s different: without a care or cost.

“The Memories” EP is available on 505 Records. -
