..... Shaz grew up to the sounds of her father’s guitar and records of his favourite blues artists, such as Eric Clapton, Dr John, Keb Mo and Tracy Chapman, fostering her own love for music from an early age. She’s been singing for as long as she can recall. She remembers making up songs and singing like a diva for hours while peddling around the house on her tricycle. Cute, but perhaps a bit much for the long-suffering audience that was her family…
As a teenager, her song writing became more serious, as she found that writing and music became her outlet for dealing with life’s dramatic twists and turns. For years, however, her writing stayed safely tucked away in the pages of her diary, only ever shared with her friends and her guitar. It was only upon meeting Sunny that this began to change. Sunny and her black Fender guitar, Pandora, created some kind of magic with Shaz when she sang – and friends were taken aback while watching the two of them perform. After a few months of playing together, with a new, dynamic energy added to her songs, Shaz and Sunny officially christened their duo Fox Fyre (the verdict is still out on who is the Fox and who is the Fyre) and took their music to the world.
Influences
Ani Di Franco, Michelle Breeze, Jo Day, Karma, Karen Zoid, Tori Amos...
Fox Fyre, a musical duo of Shaz on vocals and Sunny on guitar bring you a combination of unique energies and life experiences. Original songs written by Shaz fill the audience with a spectrum of cascading emotions as they take you on a journey through the heart. From the deep and melodic sounds of love song Venus (“breathing in your energy like mist, your residue on my skin”), to the suspended beat of women losing their identities in relationships in Jane Doe (“pieces of mirror scattered around me – it’s your eyes staring back at me”), to Oblivion’s impassioned comment on the state of the world (“dark clouds in the sky, poisonous wisps of crystalline stars swirl behind your eyes”) and the reality of starting out in life (“gotta work to get paid, gotta love to get laid”), there is something to strike a chord in every-one.
Join them on their journey, and let yourself be moved.

Excerpt from #29: Josephine’s Penny Brides (Josephine the Outlaw KIng) ....Josephine didn’t sell hot dogs for a buck fifty. Her stand was a smart operation: rare and bloody fresh for lots and lots. She had lovely Betties. If she was gonna have them she at least wanted them to be something she’d really like to gander at as well. She like the number eight. It was like a racetrack and she liked ’em built for speed. Yeah. Va Va Voom. If you were fair, your hair was black. Dark skinned, platinum locks. Red hair was the default. Went with everything. Nothing in-between, extremes only. Something you wouldn’t see everyday. Modern day pin ups. Jumping off the garage wall, fingerprints, pin pricks and all... **** read the rest of the story so far. click the pic below.. ......
