NEW RELEASES

Deanna Kirk Beautyway Releasing Nov 13 2007

Deanna's New Release, "Beautyway" is her third studio album, featuring all new original material. This marks Deanna's first release on the Fractal Entertainment Jazz Imprint .

Deanna's New York story begins when the British producers of the Bolshoi Ballet had wandered into Bradley's jazz club in New York where a young Deanna was performing. So impressed were they by what they heard that they proposed buying her her own jazz club. In 1992 Deanna's music club was born and was opened on East 7th Street and 1st Avenue.

For five years Deanna performed for and with some of the biggest names in jazz (Roy Hargrove, Eartha Kitt, Cecil Taylor), rock music (Keith Richards, The SpinDoctors) and American culture (from Quentin Crisp to Matt Dillon and Sarah Jessica Parker to George Stephanopolous). It was there that Deanna recorded her first live jazz album, "Live at Deanna's," critically acclaimed by the press and jazz fans around the world."That was a beautiful experience and artistically very satisfying to perform each night with such great musicians.

Deanna's first studio album, "Marianna Trench," featured original songs as well as Leonard Cohen and Sandy Denny favorites. Billboard Magazine featured Deanna on their front page. Deanna was featured in People Magazine, the New York Times, Time Out and New York Magazine. Deanna wrote and recorded her second studio album "Where Are You Now" for Blackbird/Elektra which also received critical acclaim.

Here is a video from that record

She toured North America with Jane Siberry. Deanna's music has been featured in such television shows as Felicity, Hyperion Bay and Cupid and on the movie soundtracks "Down To You" and "Me Myself I".

The Burns Sisters Wild Bouquet Releasing October 31, 2006

The Burns Sisters are back with their new release Wild Bouquet and have diligently applied their gorgeous and magical three-part harmonies.

Their stirring take on Leonard Cohen's "Democracy" offers tangible optimism that the electoral times just might be a changin'. Marie's "Bring Them Home" supports the troops in the best way possible by wishing for their safe return.

Their take on "God's Promise," a Woody Guthrie lyric set to music by Ellis Paul, is a gorgeous hymn for humanity. Conversely, their performance of Guthrie's "Vigilante Man" shows how three beautiful voices can be wielded like the sharp edge of a sword.

Their stellar version of Steven Van Zandts "I Am A Patriot" truly captures the current conflicting emotions we are experiencing as Americans in this post-9/11 world.

The Coalition Naked Movies Releasing June 12 2007

Naked Movies is the culmination of a search by four musicians on a mission to create something different, something wholly unique. Equally inspired by the energy and ideas coming from the techno and jam band scenes that have sprouted up in the past ten years, these seasoned New York players (aptly known as The Coalition) have drawn on their collective pop, rock and jazz roots to put together a new sound that defies easy categorization.

Keyboardist Scott Healy and bassist Mike Merritt have been playing together since 1993 on "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" as charter members of the Max Weinberg 7. Drummer Shawn Pelton, a regular on "Saturday Night Live" as well as a sought-after session man for pop and rock recordings, turned out to be the wild card of the bunch, bringing his techno savvy to the table on this session.

Scott Healy and guitarist Glenn Alexander have had a working relationship that goes back to the mid '80s. "I played on Glenn's first album (1987's Glenn Alexander on Chase Records) and I produced his second album (1993's Rainbow's Revenge on Shanachie Records).

"Call it avant groove, post-jam band, organic techno-jazz-fusion or call it whatchuwanna, the resulting sound is as unprecedented as it is provocative. In a world of vacuum-packed sampled sounds and clone bands galore, retro-this, neo-that and same ol' same ol', Naked Movies can truly be called fresh and original."
