Missa's Interests
|
| General | I like and dislike so many things, it would take more space than what is available. If you're interested, we can talk about it. | | Music | I can appreciate and listen to just about anything with the exception of what they call "gangsta rap" and hip-hop. Why? Well, I think most of the songs butcher the language and are extremely demeaning to women; not to mention the fact that quite a few of them are downright filthy. But then again, to each his own.
I have a particular fondness for traditional folk music and celtic music. And I love the sound of a well-played hammered dulcimer. | | Movies | Here are a few choices: Best Mystery: Sleuth (the original one with Michael Caine and Laurance Olivier...the remake was just awful); Best Western (this one is a 3-way tie): Rio Bravo, Shennandoah, How The West Was Won; Best Epic: Gandhi; Best Sci-Fi: The Day The Earth Stood Still; Guilty Pleasure: The Lord of the Rings triology (the extended, director's cut versions); The most over-rated movie in film history: Citizen Kane. | | Television | Don't watch much network t.v., but do watch the news channels and enjoy much of the programming on the so-called "discovery" channels. | | Books | Anything to do with any type of trivia; I love useless information! I like some science fiction, some of the classics, and some pulp fiction. My "guilty pleasures" include the Alex Delaware series written by Jonathan Kellerman, the Harry Potter books by J.K.Rowling, and the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. | | Heroes | "...Idols are best when they're made of stone; a savior's a nuisance to live with at home; stars often fall, heroes go unsung; and martyrs most certainly die too young."

Missa's Blurbs |
About me:
Love me, hate me, or anything in between, I am who I am. I post neither my true name, my true age, nor my true image because I feel none of these has anything to do with "the price of tea in China". Suffice it to say that I have lived long enough to feel no great need to justify myself to just about anyone. (with a few exceptions, now and then)
Politically and life-style-wise you may find me 10 degrees to the right of Atilla the Hun on some issues, and 10 degrees to the left of Leon Trotsky on others. Usually, though, you will find me in the middle... just like most folks.
I love to share ideas, and music, and funnies, and recipes, and thoughts, and feelings...things like that. You don't have to agree with me to gain my respect and/or friendship. Just go with the flow.
I don't want to marry you. I don't want your money. I'm not going to give you any of my money. I don't want you to "help" me make more money. I don't want your advice on how to spend the money I already have, which, for the record, isn't much, but adequate to my needs. So, if all you're looking for is matrimony and/or financial gain, you'd better look someplace else.
The reasons I'm here are fairly simple and straight-forward. I'd like to make some new friends, have some spirited discussions, and I'd really like some help learning more about this infernal contraption my daughter talked me into buying. Care to join me?

Who I'd like to meet:
The religious patriarch, Abraham. Since the world's three major religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) all trace their beginnings back to this one man, I'd like to sit down and ask him what he thinks about the way his "children" turned out. Just between you, me and the fencepost, I don't think he'd be all that pleased.
