Manufacturing of perfumes

Current mood:busy

Perfumes are a mixture of fragrant essential oils, aroma compounds, fixatives, and solvents used to give the human body scent. A good quality perfume has between 20 and 150 ingredients, mostly of plant or man-made origin, though some are extracted from animals. Grasse, which is located in the south of France, is the center of the perfume industry. Here is field upon field of violets, jasmine, roses, lavender and carnations. Gloves, cinnamon, coriander, patchouli, vetiver, ginger, and many other plant ingredients are imported from India and the east for manufacturing process. Synthetic ingredients are produced by chemical processes, which is an important part in the manufacture of perfumes. The chief animal ingredients in manufacturing include civet, musk and ambergris.

First oil is diluted with a solvent and essential oils, which decreases the risk of injury or allergy when applied directly due to high concentration of volatile components. Ethanol is most widely used as a diluter. Nowadays jojoba and coconut oil is also used for dilution. The next step after dilution is filtration by which unwanted particles are removed. Depending on the concentration levels there are different types of perfumes available in the market. Discount perfumes have great demand today because of the fragrance and best quality offered. See to store the bottle in a cool, dim place.
