We like eating bagels, hot dogs , talking about the weather, reading lots of different stuff at the same time, drinking a cold cup of tea , cooking, doing nothing at all, going for a weekend in the countyside and playing music. Oh and we can roll lots of cigarettes ourselves (!) and play the jazzoflute and melodica!
Akiko is absolutely not a serious band , probably because playing in a band is not necessary a serious thing.
It..s 3 guys who don..t (and can..t ) sing , but who play guitar , bass , drums , melodica and like to use some fun samples from stupid B-Movies or a boring documentary.
Akiko play Noise and Rock , and , like several bands , are influenced by the music of Shellac , Fugazi , Mc Lusky , Slint , Pupile , The Future of the Left (...) for the intensity , to Joy Division , Constantines , Beastie Boys (...) for this kind of groove.
Everything here rests on the energy , surprise element , spontaneity , the desire to meet people and the pleasure to share a stage with lots of excellent bands.
We just really hope you have fun.
