Throughout the group we all have our own influences - dance music producers such as Timo Maas, Eric Prydz, Trentemoller, Nic Fanciulli, Paul Woolford, DJ Sneak, Tiga, Mylo, Plump DJ's, Derrick Carter, Dubfire, Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, Terry Francis, Phil Weeks, Inland Knights, Mark Farina, Brett Johnson, Dave Congreve, Alex Smoke, Jon Carter, Nathan Coles, Daniel Taylor, ralph Lawson, Massive Attck, Nightmares On Wax, Hexadecimal, Rennie Pilgrim, Sasha, Ian Ossia, Sound Alliance, Rex The Dog, Chris Lake, The Prodigy, LFO, Faithless, Lee Coombs, James Zabiela, Carl Cox, Dave Seaman, Swag, Switch , Jessie Rose, the Little Men, Masters At Work, Lil Lou, Deep Dish, Phil Kieren, Stanton Worriers, James Talk as well as some of the early producers of dance music like Frankie Knuckles, Larry Lavan and Farley Jack Master Funk.
There are other people that we are influenced by such as bands from the late 70's early 80's like Joy Division (New Order)
Frakah are a bunch of knob-twiddlers straight out of the Midlands, partial to the odd synthesiser or drum machine, and that's not just in the studio! The full on Frakah experience (unlike the Jimi Hendrix Experience) includes two vocalists, a drummer, a turntablist and a bank of machinery and flashing lights that would challenge the crew of the Enterprise... But whereas the crew of the Enterprise can only work their magic for half an hour... Frakah can and do work it for five hours plus!
Their first release will be seeing the light of day through the Sound of Spectrum, the label-arm of award winning break-beat behemoth, Spectrum Breaks, who signed the track after seeing the damage the thing wreaked when played out on CDR to crowds at the Glade Festival, The Custard Factory (Drop Beats Not Bombs) and of course, at their very own Nottingham shindig, based at Stealth, the much touted Spectrum.
The boys are currently working on their next batch of breaks and sleazy house madness, in between recording sessions at Confetti Studios, cups of tea, indulging their passion for compressed air and stamp collecting.
