Fralex9 is a multi-genre trio founded by Sken in 2006.
Sken has been playing guitar and writing songs about 20 years. He has played in many genres ranging from his work in the avante-garde, Denver, CO based Youth Against Peanut Brittle, to the Seattle based freak-rock bands San Pedro Circus and Nat King Tentacle. He has performed extensively in art galleries, bars, performance halls, sidewalks, piers, riverwalks, parks and restaurants all across the country. So, naturally as a guitarist, he thinks he has a good idea or two. In 2006 he decided to put all of his past works and experience to work in a new project he called Fralex9.
Sken has been playing with Christa Fischer since 1999. They had been involved on and off in different capacities until 2008 when she joined Fralex9. Christa has also been playing music and rocking audiences in bands such as the Alt/Indie group Martian Finishing School, Americana/Indie group Misdiagnosed, and the funky BhoomSai.
In 2007 Sken met Jim Hartley and it was one of those lottery winning kind of one in a million shots that has continued to get deeper and stranger for 2 years. His style seemed to really fit Sken's desires to explore the nebulous abstract and the crisp tight music possibilities. Upon their first time playing, it was pretty obvious to both of them that they had found someone to explore with. Jim has been playing bass for decades, carefully honing a unique style that accents just the right beats. He even rocked the bars of Naples, Italy way back in the day. How cool is that?
This trio has been together since early 2008. Due to injury, Christa was not able to participate in the recording of Fralex9's 3 song demo which they finished mid 2009. Fralex9 luckily met the highly accomplished and professional Abraham Calleros who provided great driving rhythm.
Fralex9 is now working with vocalist Lex Samsonite in an effort to make the vocals and the music stronger, stranger, better!

I really like the idea of someone "hearing" ketchup! It makes me think about someone with their ear pressed up against a ketchup bottle. With the Ketchup track being gone this image works even better!
