THE FRAMERS present
Studio4 Gallery
Subversive arts & crafts found in Birmingham - Early 2005 Beat13 moved their gallery space into Studio4 at The Framers situated at the Custard Factory in Birmingham's creative quarter. It was a move of hope towards a brighter future for the local creative scene and was a natural progression to join forces with fellow Brummies 'The Outcrowd’ collective. The Outcrowd are a group like minded pencil wrestlers loosely based in the Midlands. A natural collaboration between Beat13 and the Outcrowd has formed, and now their joint potential is being realised. This symbiotic move has forged a strong presence in the otherwise sparse alternative/contemporary art movement of the west midlands.
Work exhibited is by artists such as Lucy McLauchlan & Matt Watkins of Beat13, Outcrowd founders Log Roper & Simon Peplow and there sprawling collective . Also for sale are t-shirts, bags, sculpture, collectables, prints, origonals, magazines, fanzines and limited prints by international giants such as Jamie Hewlett, Dave Kinsey, Jeremy Fish, Shephard Fairey, Banksy, Faile, Mode2 the Scrawl collective as well as a show case of hot new emerging talent. We also have on sight specialist framing facility at the adjoining framers workshop.
In the new year the focus shall be on strong exhibitions by some of the finest solo and group collaborations, from local talented scribblers to international showcases.
