Framing Everett is now The City Walls! www.myspace.com/thecitywallsmusic
My name is Will Everett, and I started this project called Framing Everett somewhere around 2004-2005 when I was almost 16. It was mostly just me, and I just wanted an outlet for the songs I was writing. I started getting more and more interested in the production and recording aspect of music, and so I set up some recording equipment in the upper garage at my parent's house, and was recording with a friend named Jeff Eitzen who I learned a lot from.
My best friend Ethan and I would get together and jam, and he started playing with me more consistently. We didn't really do too much, other than a few cafe gigs and things of that nature. I left the country for 6 months after I graduated highschool in 2006, and while I was gone I wound up writing a couple songs that I really liked. When I came back I asked Ethan and another mutual friend Brian Babb to play with me. I recorded an EP - "The Strategic EP", and we started playing shows at Thee Parkside, Rickshaw Stop, Blake's on Telegraph, Red House in Walnut Creek, and various other warehouses, venues, etc. in the Bay Area.
We were definitely having fun, but I think the sound we were looking for was more easily accomplished by having more than just 3 of us in the band. So my friend Danny started playing guitar and singing, and his friend Tree joined us shortly after. We are now called The City Walls, we are just about done recording with producer and engineer Masaki Liu and will continue playing shows around town. We love it!
Anyways, that is my musical journey over the last few years. The songs that are up here are all older, and I don't really think we'll be playing them as The City Walls anytime soon. A couple of t hem are from The Strategic EP, and the others are from before we recorded that album - before Ethan and Brian and I were officially "Framing Everett"... Old school ;-) or something like that.
Please check out The City Walls!
See you soon.
