I have always enjoyed making sound. It has become a path of communication, expression and healing. I've been a singer/songwriter since the 60s (voice, guitar, piano), and in about 2003 I seriously picked up the Native American flute due to the influence of Paul Stone (http://www.paulstone.us) and one of his flutemakers Mark Brajevich (www.ckenmark.com) from whom my mother purchased my first decent flute, and then hearing Mary Youngblood's CD, "Beneath the Raven Moon" (http://www.maryyoungblood.com).
I have had the privilege of taking flute lessons and workshops with Mary, and duetting with her in several local concerts. She is my flute mentor and inspiration, as are many flute player and performers (famous and not so famous), and flutemakers that I have met personally and virtually through listervs and Yahoo groups.
Personal healing for sentient beings (which to me includes all of nature) and healing the earth has been a passion of mine for many years -- I truly believe that healing our personal environment is a microcosm which can affect the macrocosm -- the entire planet. Even if you think I'm full of hooey, it doesn't hurt to treat others as you would like to be treated yourself. And smile . . .
peace, harmony and blessings,
Francesca
