Having been influenced by a musical family, & growing up in Northeastern PA, I was inspired by various artists in Blues, Rock'N'Roll, Hard Rock, R&B, and Funk and Jazz/Rock Fusion music. I also began singing at a very early age & started teaching myself bass at age 14. I studied music theory with Schuyler Collins at the Berkley School of Music, and voice with master vocal technician Nikki Cukor in New York. For several years, I played bass and was lead vocalist for several top drawing bands on the east coast club circuit. I then decided to move on to Los Angeles, to further pursue my music career and get out of the cold weather!
I was one of the top ten bass players picked by BILLY SHEEHAN for the MUSICIAN'S INSTITUTE Scholarship Contest, attended the well-known school, not only graduating at the top of the class with the VOCATIONAL HONORS AWARD, but also receiving the HUMAN RELATIONS AWARD at M.I. in 1995. This led me to assistant teaching and private instruction at Musician's Institute.
Reputation and experience led me to audition for DWEEZIL ZAPPA, the NEW RADICALS, VONDA SHEPARD from TV's "Allie McBeal".
and to play with MEGADETH'S, CHRIS POLAND & his band MUMBO'S BRAIN. Then I recorded the instrumental Rock/Funk/Jazz/Fusion record with Chris called, "CHASING THE SUN"(available @ GROOVEYARDRECORDS.COM and CHRISPOLAND.COM).
Having caught the attention of label exec FRED BROWN at WARNER BROTHERS, I was referred to work with guitarist STAN WHITAKER, (former guitarist/vocalist for Peter Gabriel and Happy The Man) and formed the band SPIRIT NOISE with Stan and my brother/drummer, RICO DICOSMO.
I've also played with with WARNER BROS. recording artist, TRACY DAWN, alternative L.A. rock band, PUSH, and co-produced, played bass and arranged music & vocals for the album, "BURNIN" for ELIZABETH WILLS with producer CHRIS VANTASSEL.
I also recorded an EP with the band WORLDS APART with producer BARRY FAZMAN, recorded the album "CONFESSIONS" with the band JADED, and recorded "GOOD VIBRATIONS" with L.A.'s Rock/Reggae/Rap/Pop Band SHAKA BUKU(ShakaBuku.com). I co-wrote and recorded a song for the album "TRUCE" by singer/songwriter JAMIE GREEN (named by L.A. Music Awards as Best Unsigned Artist),
I played on the album "FALLEN" by EVANESCENCE, (learn more @ EVANESCENCE.COM). of which the single "BRING ME TO LIFE" was 1 on BILLBOARD's MODERN ROCK Chart!
"FALLEN" also won TWO GRAMMY AWARDS FOR BEST ROCK PERFORMANCE AND BEST NEW ARTIST AT THE 46TH ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS IN FEB. 2004 AND HAS SOLD OVER TEN MILLION COPIES WORLD WIDE!!!! (More @ GRAMMY.COM) Two tracks from "FALLEN" also made it on the soundtrack of MARVEL COMICS inspired movie "DAREDEVIL". (Winduprecords.com).
