Francesco Greggio - padovano, classe 1982 - è un chitarrista blues, significativamente contaminato dai generi quali rock, funk, fusion e jazz.

A soli dieci anni avviene il primo contatto con la sua passione e decide di seguire gli studi classici al Conservatorio e di dedicarsi al clarinetto. Quasi contemporaneamente si avvicina alla chitarra, verso la quale prova da subito estremo interesse e ispirazione. Inizia così un percorso di studio e ascolto intenso dello strumento, che lo porta a scoprire e innamorarsi del blues. 

Nel 2002 suona assieme ai Blue Devils e Marco Pandolfi. Nel 2003 fonda gli Zydeco Hogs: la band propone un repertorio originale di cajun, zydeco e blues tipico della musica da ballo della Louisiana. 

Sempre nel 2003 si iscrive all'Accademia di Musica Moderna di Modena e  studia sotto la guida di Manuel Belli; nel 2006 termina con due anni di anticipo il percorso di studi dell'Accademia e ottiene il diploma in chitarra blues col massimo dei voti.

Con gli Zydeco Hogs incide un cd promozionale e partecipa a diversi festival di blues italiani: Deltablues (Rovigo, 2007, apre l'esibizione di Magic Slim e Charlie Musselwhite), Rootsway (Parma, 2008).

Nel 2007 entra nella reggae band Arise, nata dalle ceneri del gruppo Papyrifera Soul. Incide People, album promozionale con sei brani inediti originali. Con questa formazione suona in diversi club del Veneto e partecipa allo storico Rototom Sunsplash European Reggae Festival di Udine, e al Nomi on the Rock festival di Rovereto (TN).

Nel 2009 è pronto il suo primo album da solista Blue Homework. Registrato in studio (da Ugo Bolzoni, Nfrs, Rovigo) assieme ai Sucker Punch (Chris Boulet, Giorgio Bradaschia, Gianmatteo Lucchin) e interamente autoprodotto, ad oggi, non gode ancora una una distribuzione ufficiale. 

Già in pochi mesi il disco ottiene numerosi consensi: i brani sono in rotazione musicale in alcune radio europee (Francia, Belgio, Polonia) e nazionali; nel giugno del 2009, ha l'opportunità di suonare al Red Moon Fest (Fossalta - Padova) aprendo a Alvin Youngblood Hart, e al Deltablues (Rovigo) prima di Joe Louis Walker; a settembre viene pubblicata su Jam l'ottima recensione a cura di Fabio Treves; inoltre - importante traguardo - Francesco e la sua band ottengono il secondo posto alla finale italiana del International Blues Challenge, il più rinomato concorso internazionale di blues. 

Insegnante AMM National School presso il Camm di Padova, dove segue i corsi di chitarra.

Francesco Greggio was born in Padua in 1982. He is a blues guitarist whose music is significantly enriched by different genres such as rock, funk, fusion and jazz. 

At ten he decided to pursue his passion, beginning formal studies at the music conservatory, studying the clarinet. At the same time, he was attracted and inspired by the guitar, for which he instantly felt a great connection. It was the beginning of an intense study of the instrument, which led to his discovery and love of blues. 

In 2002, he played with the Blue Devils and Marco Pandolfi. In 2003, he founded the Zydeco Hogs; which produces an original repertoire of cajun, zydeco and blues, typical Louisiana music.

In 2003, he enrolled in the Accademia di Musica Moderna in Modena to study under Manuel Belli; in 2006, he graduated from the Accademia, obtaining his diploma in blues guitar with high marks and finishing two years early. 

With the Zydeco Hogs he recorded a promotional CD and he has participated in several Italian blues festivals such as Deltablues (Rovigo, 2007) where he opened for Magic Slim and Charlie Musselwhite, and Rootsway (Parma 2008). 

In 2007, he joined the reggae band Arise, which was born from the ashes of Papyrifera Soul. He recorded People, a promotional album with six original pieces. With this band he played in many clubs in the Veneto region and participated in the Rototon Sunsplash European Reggae Festival in Udine, and in the Nomi on the Rock Festival in Rovereto.

In 2009, he debuts his first solo album, Blue Homework (recorded in the studio Nfrs by Ugo Bolzoni, in Rovigo) with the Sucker Punch (Chris Boulet, Giorgio Bradaschia, Gainmatteo Lucchin) which is entirely self-produced, yet not officially distributed. 

n a few months, the album received extensive accl.. the songs are in rotation in some European radio stations (Italy, France, Belgium, Poland); in June 2009, has the opportunity to play at the Red Moon Fest (Fossalta - Padova) opening at Alvin Youngblood Hart, and Deltablues (Rovigo) before Joe Louis Walker; in September is published on Jam the excellent review by Fabio Treves; also, Francesco and his band get the second place to the Italian final of International Blues Challenge, the most renowned international competition for blues.

He is currently a teacher at the AMM National School at Camm in Padua, where he teaches guitar.
