Top 20 Debuts of 2008: No. 6
Top 50 Albums of 2008: No. 30
- Under The Radar

"Call it 'chamber pop' or just call it like it is: a phenomenal debut album."
- Prefix Mag (read)

"Frances play lushly orchestrated indie pop that's bound to attract references to bands like Neutral Milk Hotel and Beirut. And when Frances release their debut album, All the While, later this year, expect similarly devoted followings to arise."
- Flavorpill

"Beängstigend gut."
- Der Spiegel (lesen)

"Intimidating in its sophistication, an algorithm of beats, melody and accompaniments layered carefully into the verse-chorus-verse grooves of pop formula."
- Paste (read)

"One of the year's best debuts."
- Cleveland Scene (read)

"One of 8 New York Bands You Need To Hear"
- The L Magazine (read)

"The orchestrations are sophisticated and complex, far more than your average window dressing, and as an opening shot, the EP this is drawn from is quite a statement. I can't wait to hear the LP."

WHY WERE THERE NO ANNOUNCEMENTS AT SHAWNEE ABOUT THE SHOW? I've been wanting to see you guys for such a long time(you can see my comments from years ago if you look that far back lol), but there wasn't a single flyer on campus, email to my inbox, or posting on the school website. I just saw where you're status was "touring" and thought that I would see where you were playing, then I see SSU and want to die. Please please please, come back soon. This area desperately needs more exposure to real music.
Whitney.

I can't wait to see you at the Preservation Pub! You should try to convince Langhorne Slim and Jason Lytle to come with you. Just tell them how cool it is in Knoxville...
