We created Unique Records in June 2001 (now renamed We Are Unique ! Records), and remained faithful to our basic manifesto - to defend complex and original music, across various musical styles. To promote the originality of our productions beyond business rules. Despite the ever-growing difficulty of being an independent label, weve got through, and weve found a faithful audience, willing to hear our attempts of renewing the so-called independent music. Weve also met successful critic response (Les Inrockuptibles, Magic!, Coda, Rock Sound, Rolling Stone, Mouvement, Trax, etc.). Unique Records has developed in France and abroad, collaborating with fellow French labels (Another Record, Monopsone, Effervescence, and Drunkdog) and foreign ones: Moonpalace, Superglider, Megaphone Music. We have broadened our broadcasting network to Canada, Japan, Sweden, Poland, Portugal, and (hopefully) more countries will come soon. Our signed artists include ELECTROPHÖNVINTAGE, ANGIL, RAYMONDE HOWARD, HALF ASLEEP, LUNT, MELATONINE... We constantly keep seeking continuity, currently releasing the sequel albums of artists who brought their first efforts to our label. We obviously keep looking for new talents - which is one of our priorities, with still the same everlasting spirit of sincerity and integrity. -
