   About Francis Campbell
I'm a Newcastle Upon Tyne based acoustic folk guitarist. I arrived at folk music a few years ago from a love of music in general (having had a background before that in pop/rock songwriting). What attracts and excites me most about the folk 'idiom' is the fun, festivity, poignancy, musicality, lively banter, wit & unshrinking engagement with the harsh realities of everyday life. I have recorded 2 self-released CD albums ('A World Of Change' in 2006 & 'Heading North' in 2007) so far and hope to have further music available, either in a solo capacity or in collaboration with other folkies, in the not too distant future.

Hello Fran,
Thanks for the request!  I really enjoyed listening to your tracks - good stuff.  Out of all of the friend requests I had waiting for me to listen through, your music was, by far, above everyone else.  You have a very pleasing tone.  My favorite tracks are "Waves On The Water" and "Twitter Twutter".  Glad you found me and took the time to send me a message.

Keep Picking,

Steven

Hi Pete
Your tunes are sounding fantastic, lovely playing as ever.
It's the launch party for our brand new CD at The Head of Steam in Newcastle on Tuesday April 14th.
Amazing night planned, it'd be great to see you there.
Check out the myspace for a little album-sneak-preview!!!

ahoy Francis (haha), thanks very much, really liking your new stuff too, impressed your finding the time with the family and all. was really great to talk at zee wedding and pick each others mind about music and why one would play guitar... seemed we share the same reasons, comforting for some reason.. anyway that song of yours i was trying to remember of yours that I love (among others) is 'deep underground - rainbow station'.. if you (which i think you should) get the time to play live you should defo chuck in a couple of tunes with the vocals.. thats my opinion though.. anyway hope all is well and speak soon.
much love
