François GRILLOT, born in Burgundy France.
Began studying trumpet playing in a marching band,
guitar and then electric bass, playing ballrooms.
Recorded with "Edition Speciale", Horizon Digital, RCA, toured over France playing The Palace in Paris, "les Arenes d'Arles, d'Orange". Recorded with Mama Bea Teckelsky, RCA, Serge Bringolf 's "Strave", Musea Records.
Move to New York, studying at City College for a bit, picking up the doublebass, studying with Harvie "S", Mickey Bass at the Jazz Mobile, Linda Mcnight from Julliard. Playing along side of Bill Bickford, Ken Hatfield, Adam Naussbaum, Harolf Danko, Mike Clarke, Bob Rouch, Dennis Chinelli and Mary Cherney. Recorded 2 albums with Ed Russell, Dark Sun Records, "Visions of Order", and "Laws of Circonstance"...
In 2001 music takes a turn...with Matt Lavelle, old pal from Tower Rec. times... meet Steve Swell, Daniel Carter, Todd Capp and slowly make his path among a whole new world.....
