I thought of 3 proposals of how to change the existing gigging system:
1) We get the 1st gig together, and half the effort, so bands get usual audience, but, to make it really profitable, promoters bring along another crowd, thus we get more people and fresh audience.
2) organize a night with a DJ set afterwards.. we're likely 2 get more people in if there's a party afterwards.
3) organize "theme nights". Like 'metal', 'psychedelic' 'alternative'...
It means still doing the things i mentioned in the first point, but it's easier to get a crowd that would be more related to the music..
Wednesday night's set was snazztatsic. Hadn't heard 4-man suicide pact before but it is quality. Long may the kings of the tavy delta continue forcing me out of the house and into Franco's gigs.
