Ok...here we go: In the 1980s I was a busker and part-time rat-catcher in the city of Oxford. I was then known as Archie 'Chocoboy' Ayres but one day a high pitched inner voice told me to change my name by deedpoll to 'Frank Fish'. I then insisted that my ugly, overworked, underpaid backing band 'The Cutteslowe Grunties' immediately reinvent themselves as either' The Small Penises' or 'The Fins'. After much careful thought they chose the latter and the fish-obsessed, psychedelic, pantomime rock buffoonery of Frank Fish and the Fins began it's chaotic wock'n'woll journey. These days, I am proud to be one half of the soup obsessed, whistling duo Nige and Trev. The other half is my friend Mick Clack of Rooftop Studio fame. I live in Holland. Mick lives in England. On December 25th 2005 NIGE and TREV were announced as winners in no less than three categories in the 2006 International Online Music Awards (IOMAS)...BEST ARTIST, BEST COMPOSER and BEST SONG for their track entitled My Horse will never exist in Reality. NIGE and TREV's drummer Dale Marshall also received the 2006 IOMA for BEST DRUMMER. Some people have described Nige and Trev as a ranting, grooving, shrieking, whistling, psychedelic jazz/rock/blues/classical/comedy/funk band who have a passionate devil-may- care, 'no-holds-barred' approach to creating music. Other folks claim that their rapturous hotch potch of euphoric feverish, flamboyant, funk-folk pandemonium is generously peppered with fevered bursts of surreal whammy bar werewolf gibberish reminiscent of Captain Beefheart and the great Lord Buckley with distant and respectful echoes of Frank Zappa and the Mothers Of Invention, Bonzo Dog Band, Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix and Johnny Winter. Me? I love budgies, Stonehenge and English beer. Oh yes, and I nearly forgot....sometimes, Mick and I wear plastic joke rabbit teeth and pink floppy velvet ears as we somehow magically transform into riff-pilfering, hutch-dwelling guitar duo Frank Rabbit and the Bobtails . We are just about to release a scratch'n'sniff triple live CD called 'Lettuce Pray' although we might change the title to 'CarROT in Hell'................................................................................. You can hear me saying 'Pretty girls...pretty girls' on a track called Pretty Girls don't Listen by Gurzunz which also features my good friends Rose Kemp on vocals, Dale Marshall on drums and Andre Van Solinge and Mick Clack on guitars.
