Now HBO is sucking wind, but aside from Brotherhood and The Tudors, I think the Showtime stuff is crap-Dexter is the best, but Weeds, Californication and the L Word really suck. My favorite TV stuff of all time is BBC stuff: the 13 part epic Jewel In The Crown, and the dramatizations of the John LeCarre books with Alec Guiness, Smiley's People and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. Also loved all the Prime Suspect series with Helen Mirren.
