I grew up in New york, but I now call Los Angeles my home. I miss the people in N.Y. but L.A. is a great city and the warm weather inspires me.
I'm a classically trained pianist and have been playing the piano since the age of five. Never in a million years would I have thought that I would be a singer. But life is mysterious and beautiful and after I wrote my first song, there was no turning back. I like listening to songs with deep lyrics and strong melodies because they completely enrapture me. When I first listened to songs like, Carole King's, You've Got A Friend, Tracy Chapman's, Fast Car, The Beatles, Let It Be, they struck a chord in my heart so deeply that I started to write poetry. Then one day, I sat down at the piano and thought, hmmmm... I can play the keys, I love to sing, and I love poetry, so I just wrote a song purely for fun. After I wrote my first song, time stood still for a while. I experienced an epiphany that woke me up. I realized I needed to devote my life to music and songwriting.
I've been very blessed to be awarded as Female Singer/Songwriter of the Year at the L.A. Music Awards and my song Shadow was awarded as Adult Contemporary Single of the Year. I've composed music for T.V. and film. My latest project was composing music for Tony Kaye, director of American History X.
But what I love most is writing songs and performing them live. To me, there's nothing better than creating something solely from your heart and sharing that with others. Life is beautiful no matter what, and that's what I remind myself of everyday. There's no obstacles, only opportunities. Keep in touch myspacers :)
