About me:
I have played guitar in various bands in the Hull area for the past %$^%years and always liked my music 'live'. see...... http://www.punk77.co.uk/groups/revolt_strangeways.htm...... Recently as my more 'grown up' band activities have reduced, I've taken to the local open mic night circuit and been blown away by the high quality of Hull's unsigned, unassuming, un 'other stuff' talent. I decided to start my own open mic night at The Blue Bell Inn, Cottingham 3 miles North West of Hull city centre. Manager Andy provides a great venue and hospitality and is seriously pro music. Andy welcomes acoustic musicians who choose to simply turn up and busk in the bar (function bookings permitting) 'FACE THE MUSIC'@ THE BLUE BELL is EVERY OTHER WEDNESDAY. THE HULL DAILY MAIL publishes DATES & DETAILS OF GUESTS in the 'WHAT'S ON LISTINGS' Check the night out and enjoy some really accomplished musicians in a pleasant atmosphere with my commitment to provide a really good stage sound.
Who I'd like to meet:
More musicians who are looking for an outlet. -Singers, songwriters, instrumentalists, cover versionists... or any combination of the four. Blues, Folk, Rock, Jazz, Funk, Indie, World etc etc etc

Hey Frank - Thanks for the friendship!  Music links us all together.  There are wars taking place in every country in the world ... some are just more obvious.  Music can make a difference.  Keep reaching out.

May I presume to bung a plug for what promises to be the gig of the year, or any other year for that matter, on your comments please?

It is the men known as THE UKRANIANS with comedic support from The Hull Blokes and some danceable ditties from Lynne Scratch Perry.

Its this Friday April 3rd at the Shire Hall at Howden.

Hi there frankjohnsonmusic, its so very nice to meet your acquaitance, and thanking you muchly for being my (our) friend.

I hope you enjoyed our tunes - I thought you might do judging by the stuff you seem to be into like - if you fancy a couple of our mp3s for you ipod/nonbrandedmp3 player then just ping me your email address back for our mailing list (info about gigs and the like) OR just click here on these here words and I'll sort that out for you, probably in the next couple of days, quite busy.

Forgive the indulgence but I've just worked out how to do this so i'm gonna put it in here - its a video of us playing one of the songs we would send to you live @ Bull and Gate last month just to show you what it may be like, hope thats ok :)

Our next gig isnt for a while but will probably be at Metro on Tottenhem Court Road - (so not really that close to you if I'm being honest ha ha :), but who knows - you may be on holiday, or finding out what its like to visit somewhere with 10 million people in about a square mile :)

Thanks again, Stuart (from Lux Lisbon)

Michael

Hi Frank - thanks for playing at our gig - it was great to be reminded of how great/edgy/muscley your telecaster sounds in your hands.
Organisers were very complimentary! Spike x
