Original, honest and fresh, Franklyn James has combined their love of high-energy funk with playful lyrics to create a style of energy and flair. Starting as an acoustic duo, FJ has transformed into a unique funk quartet producing a firestorm of original tunes and are already well known for their dynamic performances. Constantly pushing and crossing genre boundaries, their music explores sexuality, relationships and ego with cheeky resonance.
Their most notable achievement this year was playing the Main Stage to an audience of thousands at Birrarung Marr, New Years Eve 09. Another highlight, their performance at the Annandale Hotel, for the opening of the 2008 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
Franklyn James has recently released their debut EP - Servin' Up The Funk, which has already proven to be a huge success for this up and coming Melbourne band whose love and admiration for music is evident. FJ's objective- to entertain and raise audiences to their feet.
