Frankly Scarlet was started in 2003 by cousins Grayson Kessenich and Chris Cowan. The band included the collaborative efforts of Caleb Avila, Drew Newman, and Bryce Newman who have approached this project with their various skills and musical tilt.
Sometimes described as an indie/emo/rock mix, Frankly Scarlet floats from soft ballads to heart-pumping rhythms, all-the-while ruling the stage with unreal harmonies.
Frankly Scarlet Says GoodBye
After a solid run, the members of Frankly Scarlet have decided it is time to move on to other phases and projects.
A lot has happened during the band's time:
2003: •Cousins Grayson Kessenich and Chris Cowan began writing songs together. •Grayson names the band, "Frankly Scarlet."
2004: •Played our first concert, in Sacramento, CA. •Released our debut album "Memories of the Unknown"
2005: •Made it to the top 5 out of almost 150 artists/bands contesting in 105.5 The Fish's "StarFish" contest. •Released the EP, "Dying Slowly, Quicker Than The Rest" •Lead singer Chris Cowan married his wife, Esther, on May 28th. •Drew Newman and Grayson Kessenich started college. •Released the Music Video for "DS,QTTR"
2006: •Played our final show at Calvary Chapel HS Winter Camp on February 10, 2006.
But, as they say, all good things must come to an end. Or, as founder Grayson Kessenich put it, "Sometimes you just need to know when a ministry has run it's course." We all feel that Frankly Scarlet has been a great thing, and we've had an awesome time rocking out and praising God, but due to various reasons, mainly transitions to new stages in our individual lives (college, new marriage, and further projects and goals), we all realized it was time to say goodbye.
So, thank you to all of our fans, friends, and family, for your support, encouragement, and prayers. Thank you for coming to our shows, buying our CD's, and rocking out with us.
If you have any questions, feel free to send us a message on myspace, or leave a comment here.
God Bless,
The Frankly Scarlet Guys
