R.I.P. Silvio Tancredi a HOUSE MUSIC ICON!!
So, what do Todd Terry, Tommy Musto, Victor Simonelli, Arnold Jarvis, Barbara Tucker and Jazz n’Groove all have in common? In the years between 1987 and 2005 they all produced or recorded for either , two of House music’s most enduring Record Labels, Sub-Urban and 4th Floor Records .
Founded originally in 1987 by Silvio Tancredi and Tommy Musto. Sub-Urban and 4th Floor Records both became a benchmark of quality for vinyl addicts everywhere. Although started by the same partnership the two labels retained separate musical identities. Sub-Urban Records traditionally released full vocal, soulful house cuts.
